I like SS I really do, but I've been so close to dumping it on numerous occasions recently and that's for the simple reason:

ITS IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND ANY MEANINGFUL INFORMATION ON THESE FORUMS!!!

http://www.silverstripe.org/archive/show/16752#post16752

What ever happened to this?

PLEASE PLEASE can we have some proper search conditions implemented. Using Search on these forums is like searching for one keyword in Goggle i.e. whatever you search for bloody millions of pages get returned! My frustration is that I'm sure so much help from other users experiences IS available in these forums is just so difficult to find.

Thank you

Yeah I feel your pain :)
Usually I search via Google, using: "site:silverstripe.org" as prefix. So, if you would like to get information about "DataObjectManager" and "2.4", your google search query would look like this:

site:silverstripe.org DataObjectManager +2.4

That works pretty well for me... at least better than the normal forum search.

Yea the search is pretty painful, I feel it, Google search is pretty good like banal suggested. One thing that the forum does support is boolean operators so you can use that to include / exclude statements. Also I'm going to be looking at having an advanced search function in the next feature release of the forum (0.5) see http://open.silverstripe.org/ticket/4869.
