well - i tried to work around this problem as follows:
- i created as many sub-pages as needed in categories (create page - type: forum) and linked them together in the navigational side
all i am missing now is the "nice bars" that divide the categories
in the settings of the FORUM - the "show categories" is not checked!!

Make sure you have enabled categories on the forum settings tab - this is on the forum holder page type.
