Could Subscribe be on by Default?

I am pretty bad at remembering to check subscribe when I make a post which means I always end up missing replies etc. Any chance we could have subscribe on by default? Anyone against the idea?

Good plan , but I'd opt to let the user set his/her preference...
Do you have time to submit a patch for this ?
Otherwise I might have a go (it is about time I start using subversion properly anyway ;)

Yea I agree the user should still have the option, I was thinking the box would just be checked by default.
I would be more than happy to do it, but I actually have no idea how to use subversion to do that sort of thing...if you (or anyone) could point me in the right direction that would be great

I know this is old, but I am still looking for the same thing !! how to make the subscripe button ticked by default ?
