Is there a module that requires someone to become a member before they can access certain pages of the site?
I tried to search but couldn't find anything that matched up.

Access permissions to pages are built in. You can set who can view pages in the Access table on pages. As for registration / signup forms to get the user to signup first you could have a look at a simple version of a signup form with the registration module.

is there an actual registration module? I haven't been able to find one through searching the modules.

http://silverstripe.org/registration-module/

It is pretty basic at the moment but once we have a module management system then things like the forum will be able to require registration.

Oh, I was wrong I did see that but didn't see an actual release for it?
I'm guessing the 2008 release is what's available?

When you say module management system is that something that will tie in all the modules to use one registration for all the modules you implement that may require authentication?

Also I'm not seeing how to implement this registration (sorry still very new to silverstripe).
Do I just need to add that _config file to my current mysite/_config.php ?
