Installing Java Script

8 March 2010 at 12:41pm Last edited: 8 March 2010 6:56pm
I have been using Silverstripe for a couple of years without any problems.
I now want to add some java script for our new email newsletter campaign and it does not seem to work.
Here is the specific query from my Aweber specialist:
The Question is we are inserting JavaScript for Aweber in a Content Section (Through the HTML Editor) and it is not working out that it is html vs. standard text. Is there a special way it has to be coded for the CMS to recognize it?
Are you able to help me know how to fix this issue?

I too have the same problem. I'm trying to use Java Script to embed my flash the way I want and the <object> tags don't do what I want for real transparent backgrounds.
I'll see what I can find.

Generally speaking, you should add javascript to your pages by either editing the templates directly, or (even better), by including separate javascript files using Requirements. See http://doc.silverstripe.org/requirements
I think the HTML editor will probably filter out javascript as a security option, though I may be wrong about that.
Cheers,
