I quite often see spam in the SilverStripe forums e.g. from yesterday in this forum

286235#post286235
286234#post286234
286233#post286233

...although sometimes better disguised than those & obviously been there a while.

Is there a way to report it or remove it or mark it?

Thanks,
Jules

No report spam method built in for non moderators. Only moderators and admin have access to marking as spam, deleting posts. We try to keep on top of it by checking the RSS feeds. A report spam button would also require some sort of report as well for moderators and for them to be notified.

I'm also going to be implementing email account confirmation which will reduce spam since most of these posts are coming from fake emails. This is a couple weeks away.

That's great to know you are on the case. Much appreciated.

Some spam is borderline, like this one.

If moderators were to remove the links from these posts, while leaving the URLs as clear text, then it might deter the spammers from coming back, without the risk of deleting a genuine post. Less work for moderators in the long run and everyone is happy, except the spammers.

Please if you see spam use the Feedback link at the bottom of the page, that will let the site maintainers know.
