Hi everybody,

yesterday something strange happend. A life website with SS 2.4 rc1 filled with content and running for months lost its complete content from one day to another. I couldn't even login. The fact is that the database is like after a fresh installation. How could that happen? There are no installation files on the server. Has anyone any ideas? Could it be done by an editor with admin rights? Has the site been hacked (unfortunately it was still in DEV mode)?

The dev/reset functionality was removed from 2.4 (4 months ago to be exact - r98080). That would be the only thing that could reset your installation as far as I am aware. Even as admin they would have to delete everything by hand and that would be unlikely. Are you sure the database name just hasn't changed? Eg if you changed the db from SS_mysite to SS_mynewsite then it would start afresh.

You were right. The provider did some maintenance without informing and seems to have made a mistake with the database...

Quintessence: No hack and no bug. SilverStripe is still the BEST!
