I had a look at the ticket before but unfortunately didn't scroll to the last line ;).Are there any news about the schedule for 3.0 release besides "End of 2011" from http://www.silverstripe.org/roadmap/ ?
Can't wait to get the next version of your awesome system!

Guess there won't be a 2.6.x?

BTW: Does that mean that 3.0 will still use Prototype (for validation?).
