There was an error looking for new files

I'm getting a strange error whilst saving some page types. Found out it only happens in the live version of the website and not in my local version. Ended up determining that it's the table File. So I thought I would do an 'Look for new files', however that gives an "There was an error looking for new files" error.
Is there a way to debug 'Look for new files', as the error is not very informative?

I started getting this issue on a client site...thought maybe it was a memory issue or storage issue as I have solved a similar problem a while back by increasing the size. But, not the case this time. Did you find out the cause?

Hi Terry, I'm sorry but I have no clue how I fixed this one any more. It may have had something to do with extending the File class and having an error in the extended class, but I'm just guessing here.
