How to put a visitors count in a site

13 May 2011 at 9:45pm
Hi,
I would like to know how I can put a visitors count, to see the number of people who has visited my site. Maybe there is an add-on that provides that functionality.
Unfortunately I am not able to find it or know the way to do it.
Regards and thanks with anticipation

best to use http://www.google.com/analytics/
there are a couple of modules if you want to intergrate - no idea if they work as I think it's overkillhttp://www.silverstripe.org/google-analytics-module/

Hi swaiba,
TO install this GA module : http://www.silverstripe.org/google-analytics-module/ is necesary to install previously Saphire module?
Because I am trying to follown the instalation doc http://svn.silverstripe.com/open/modules/googleanalytics/trunk/docs/README.md
and in the first step it is said : "1. follow the usual [module installation process](http://doc.silverstripe.org/modules#installation)"
but it doesnt`t appear any specificall info about installing GA

if you watch the video on the home page it shows the "usual process" and installs the blog module, http://vimeo.com/16842606.

Hi again swaiba,
I have seen the video, but unfortunately I havent been able to do it in a correct way.
First of all I download http://www.silverstripe.org/google-analytics-module/ putting it in the folder in "C:\AppServ\www\silverstripe path
2. I follow the instalations steps: http://svn.silverstripe.com/open/modules/googleanalytics/trunk/docs/README.md
I activate activate the logger by adding the following to the end of my mysite/_config.php:
`GoogleLogger::activate('SiteConfig');` (without ` `)
activate the analyzer by adding the following to the end of my mysite/_config.php:
`GoogleAnalyzer::activate('SiteConfig');` (without ` `)3. run dev/build (http://www.mysite.com/dev/build?flush=all)
If I install http://www.silverstripe.org/google-analytics-module/ and putting it in the folder in " C:\AppServ\www\silverstripe " path
but I don´t rewrite the _config.php file of http://www.silverstripe.org/google-analytics-module/which is the aim to install this module, it seems as this module doesnt do anything?

Hi again breikan,
sorry I cannot be any more help, I have never used the module, in my sites it is seperate and reports are prepared/sent or access given to the client. I included them just for information... either someone else might be able to help or you can start a new thread in the modules section might help
