Hi,
SilverStripe 3.0 is well underway of being developed. You can download or contribute to the latest development code from GitHub and have a look at the discussion going on in the Google Group.
A date has not been confirmed but I think we would hope to have a release before the end of the year.

yes - Silverstripe is really focused on open source and nothing I've seen indicates a different license (and I do keep myself up to date).
I've encourage anyone curious about it to watch Ingo's talk - 3rd video down on http://silverstripe.org/meetups-and-3-0/

SS3.0 will continue to be BSD, it's core to our values and concepts. As for when 3.0 is due, the approximate time is around the end of the year. The core team don't like putting dates on things as they're very rarely get kept too.

Hi again , I started this topic last year & now asking the similar question:
When will SS3 be ready for production ? is SS3 beta 2 stable enough to design basic websites with galleries , contact forms & maybe a basic blog module ?
thank you -

I started this topic last year
And I would expect it to be next year before it is ready for a production site - or at least that is what I am telling clients.
SS3 beta is stable enough (I think) to get started but if you are relying on an external module then chances are it has not bee upgraded.
