NTLM Authentication

Hello - I searched for NTLM and nothing came up... is it possible to have users automatically signed into Silverstripe from their Windows account? and if so how is it done?

See the external auth module as a start point - http://www.silverstripe.org/auth-external-module/ but the only windows integration I've seen is done via AD.
