Donation "Product" in the eCommerce Module

I need to add the option in a store for the user to make a donation.
Is there a tried and tested way of adding a variable price product to accommodate this? If not. Has anyone had any experience of setting this up that they would like to share?

The donation module is called: silverstripe-ecommerce_anypriceproduct
