CMS Validation

20 November 2012 at 11:48pm
SilverStripe 2.4.7
Hi
I'm getting very confused with the whole validation thing in SilverStripe. I've tried implementing what these posts talk about.
http://www.silverstripe.org/data-model-questions/show/6128
http://www.silverstripe.org/customising-the-cms/show/8236
http://archive.ssbits.com/using-jquery-for-form-validation/But even the basic getCMSValidator function doesn't seem to work for me. Am I missing something? I wanted to apply validation to dataobjects which are managed through DataObjectManager but can't seem to find anything about that.
Thanks

This was one of the reasons why i never used DOM.
The other one was that the htmleditorfield was not running in the popup of DOM.
So i always used modeladmin. -

It seems a strange thing to be overlooked. I wonder if SS 3 has a new and improved version. If not it would be worth looking into I think. I like the other features of DOM but this is a definite stumbling block.
