Add images to homepage from tutorial

Hi,
I following the staff page tutorial for silverstripe 3.0 (http://doc.silverstripe.com/framework/en/tutorials/2-extending-a-basic-site) and was wondering if there is a way to have the staff images feed onto the homepage?
I tried using the way the tutorial suggests for getting the news articles onto the homepage but i seem to just get server errors.

Without seeing your code it makes it almost impossible to troubleshoot your problems. Could you show the code you are using to try and show the images on the homepage? Might also help to know what the errors are.
