Had the same problem when importing the database from a local install to another. The url version to recreate the first user after wiping the members in the database with phpmyadmin is the handiest, great!!

This is great post! Just the thread I need to get myself out a sticky situation when you forget your own admin password - from time to time.. :)

Just out of curiosity - can this be done in production environment as well? I would imagine it would be a hacker's paradise to create havoc in resetting/recreate anyone's username and passwords...

My client lost her password and I have been trying everything to reset the password.

Tried the _config.php trick...
Tried the resetting the password in DB and setting the Encryption to none...

Any tips... I am using 2.4.5

Thanks!

Hi,

Have you tried going to the Security section, editing the user's details and changing the password by the "Change Password" feature? In the _config.php you can only set the Default Admin's password, as far as I know.

hope this helps
