AJAX drop down / text database data filtering

Hey guys,
How do I make a drop down box (or text box autocomplete) filter another box or table via AJAX in SS?Examples include:

Sorry, the documentation is bad for this link. Any idea how to use it?
Also, any idea on how to do the AJAX drop down boxes since that is my main issue?

It is not clear how to make ajax calls with autocompleteTextField - especially the ss part.Thanks.

It looks like they used the scriptaculous Ajax.Autocompleter..
The documentation for that can be found at:
