Editor Problems

Hi everyone,
I am new to SS and have been working with it for only two days. I can't help but to wonder why I cannot center a table using the editor, or have two pictures side by side. It always sticks the second picture under the first. I need them to be side by side. Any help with this is greatly appreciated.
