Fixing translatable error

Hi there.
I'm new to SS but I like it very much. I'm trying to build a multilingual website and I've read most of the topics about this, but couldn't find a solution to my problem. I enable Translatable in a clear SS installation and try to add another language through "Translations" in the admin panel, but when I press "Create" it starts saying "This page doesn't exist" to all current pages, or gives me "Fatal error: Call to undefined method stdClass::getCMSFields() in /home/whisper/public_html/silver2/cms/code/CMSMain.php on line 380" so I can't edit none of the pages, neither I can create one, cuz the "create" button is off somehow. Is there anyway that can be fixed or probably there's something major that I'm not doing and that causes an error? And is there a way I can customize the template to show different CSS class according to what language it is on, presumably changing the background-image of a <div> in the different languages?
I'm not very much into php and that's the main reason why I'm posting this here. All I want is to bring life to my static XHTML with this terrific CMS

Are you trying to use 2.3.1? Multilingual support is not yet working in 2.3.1. This is the goal for the 2.3.2 release
