ModelAdmin Delete Item

SS 2.3.2rc2
I have a working ModelAdmin Tab and some managed models. I can add them and edit them however when I do a search and see a list of items, in the right column I see "delete" instead of a red "X". The "delete" is not a link and doesn't do anything. How do I tell the ModelAdmin which items can be deleted?
