Best way to backup a website (Noob question) Link to this post

Hi since I am on my way to getting one of my websites to how I want it what would be the best way to backup the site.

I was thinking of copying the entire site to a directory and zipping it for download is this the best way.

    Thanks for your reply.

Sure, just zip the web root folder. But remember: All your website content (except assets) is stored in the database. For a complete backup, you should include a DB dump in the zip file.
