I need some input on if SilverStripe can do the job.
I work for a school district and we don't have money to spend on a good CMS. I downloaded Silverstripe and have been playing with it. My goal is to use 1 installation of silverstripe and have LDAP integrated for our users to log in with their windows accounts. Currently I have our main district site and our intranet site. Under each of these I have subsites for each department with their content and drop menus. I also have seperate schools with their content and drop menus. And.. last but not least we have around 30 teacher sites that are subwebs under our teacher sites web site.
We currently are using CMSMS (Content Management System Made Simple) and have different installations for each web site and sub web site. As you can imagine, this has become a REAL PAIN with upgrades and managing.

Can 1 installation of silverstripe do the job for all my different websites and sub webs?
I imagine this layout, this is the simple version of a MUCH MORE COMPLEX situation:

Please let me know if I am wasting my time on Silverstripe.
Any suggestions or ideas would be WONDERFUL!

SilverStripe supports multiple sites via the subsites module http://doc.silverstripe.com/doku.php?id=modules:subsites which gives you the ability to create / manage and edit individual sites as well as global content. Needs a bit of tweaking of your virtual hosts configuration (to make sure somesite.com/ points to your main sites folder) but apart from that it works pretty well.

Using Subsites means you just have 1 copy of the code, modules and any features you create so in terms of upgrading / maintaining its a heck of alot nicer then multiple installations :).

Also LDAP via the auth_external module should be a good start for syncing windows accounts.

When we got subsites installed, but the requirements.php is not finding the "tinymce.template.js" file in the cms/javascript directory.
We downloaded a fresh version of silverstripe, but it was not in this directory either. How can we get our hands on the "tinymce.template.js" file?
Somebody please help! Thanks!
