Debug CMS Reported Errors

When I try to save a page that is of a custom pagetype the CMS alerts me that there has been an error saving content in red at the bottom of the screen. That is all it says however so I have no idea what the error actually is and where in the code it happened.

If you have firebug installed view the 'Console' tab (or any other tool which allows you to view the javascript console) you will see alot of text but that is where the error is outputted to.
You can also set this to log to a file or get emailed to a given email but viewing it via firebugs console is my normal first port of call.
