OK -- almost done getting V1 of my wife's site done using a local winamp server and I am ready to find a host.

Any suggestions based on recent experience for a US based site?

To be honest, ease of install is a prime consideration.

Thanks in advance

I use 1and1.com and didn't have any problems with the install. (I had tried NearlyFreeSpeech.net originally, because I like their philosophy, but I ran into far too many problems.)

HostGator is a great US host. They offer plans for as cheap as $4.95/month, and their setup is very easy to get SilverStripe running on. I host all my clients websites with them.

Site Valley seems pretty good Jobs and can be a real bargain for the blogger, especially with the best blog hosting service. I am a blogger as well Stellenmarkt and understand that every blogger wants his blog to come successful and profitable. Will definitely consider Site Valley if other projects crop up.They offer very good services, at a very low Stellenangebote price – $2.50 per month with one free domain and unlimited bandwidth.

BlueDevil, it was over a year ago so I could be remembering wrong, but I don't recall encountering any difficulties. As per the instructions here (http://doc.silverstripe.org/doku.php?id=installation-on-webserver), SilverStripe should take you through the installation process once you've uploaded the files to your webserver and set up your MySQL account. Can you tell us the specific problem you're encountering or error message you're seeing?

Try 000webhost.com
Just do not participate in their affiliate program.

I use greengeeks.com for my own hosting and have had no problems using silverstripe on their servers. I would stay away from at&t web hosting as I have had difficulties with using silverstripe on their servers.
