It's taken a while, but i have come to accept it. Silverstripe requires an opcode cache once there are more than 10 or so models..

I do not want to manage my own server for important client sites. I could mess up, or the server could go down when I'm asleep / surfing / not interested.

I'm currently hosting a couple of SS sites with site5.com in Sydney on managed VPS's. The support there is ace and the sites have always had good uptime, but they are slow and Site5 can't give us opcode caching with a managed server.

Can you recommend a managed VPS with an opcode cache based in Sydney with great support? Ideally for around $100/month or less.

Thanks

Will

Do they offer PHP5.5 as an configuration? If so, opcode caching is built in and I believe SilverStripe supports it (I've got 5.6 running with it fine).

Haven't done too much AU hosting but I see Azure have datacenters there now which are affordable options (not managed though). MelbourneIT is the only other company I've used that's AU based and wouldn't recommend their support if you want to rely on that.
