I can't open .tar.gz files on a typical Windows Server install. This isn't good enough! If SilverStripe is really going to be Windows friendly, I should be able to update my install without having to install extra extraction apps. The way downloads are packaged now is a barrier to updating, which makes this a security problem. I'm aware it's not technically as easy to output a zip file as it is to output .tar.gz, but it is absolutely critical for Windows deployment!

Wellll, I wouldn't call it a security problem, but you have a point. I'll raise it with the ss.org team.

Oh, hey, cool. You're Ingo Schommer? I love your book! At some point, when I've stopped lending it to all my friends/colleagues, I might even get a chance at reading it properly :)
