    Can't install using MAMP - .htaccess permissions error Link to this post

    Hi There,

    Just trying to install SIlverstripe 2.4 locally using MAMP for the first time and am getting a permissions error on the install page:

    User 'username' needs to be able to write to this file:
    /Users/username/Dropbox/Sites/silverstripe240/.htaccess

    After reading the forums I've tried the following:
    - Creating a .htaccess file
    - Giving it full 777 rights

    But so far no joy - any ideas on what I might be doing wrong?
