keep getting same syntax error...

26 July 2010 at 10:29am Last edited: 26 July 2010 10:31am
I keep getting the same syntax error in my directory - no matter what I do...
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ';', expecting '(' in /homepages/43/d331152502/htdocs/ss/install.php on line 59
any ideas (hugely appreciated)
Much thanks

Is this when you are trying to install SS?
What version are you using and have you tried reuploading / replacing the copy you have with a fresh download. It could be possible that the file was incorrectly uploaded.

Have fixed it now (was a .htaccess issue with the PHP 5 handler).
now - I cannot do a "dev/build" flush - I keep getting a "404 page not found" error page!
Any ideas
Much thanks

I think that I am having a melt down or something - dev/build is working now but only when as a suffix to index.php - is this how it has always been??? I swear that it normally goes in after the root of my URL?

Sounds like a rewrite rule problem, can you post your .htaccess?

I was advised by my hosting service to re-write my .htaccess with the following
AddHandler x-mapp-php5 .php
It does actually work now... is it going to cause future problems if I follow index.php for the dev/build (or any other command for that matter)?
