Backend doesn't work anymore after migration to live server

4 January 2011 at 10:22am
Hi there,
after migrating my site to my live server the login into the backend isn't working anymore. Rest of site is working without any problems.
After calling domain.de/admin I get the login form. But after entering my credentials I only get a white page telling me:
"Your Site Name
your tagline here
* Home
* About Us
* Contact UsServer error
Sorry, there was a problem with handling your request.

Any ideas?
Thank you!

I've run into a similar problem. I've migrated my site to the live server and now when trying to access mydomain.com/admin it hangs on the "Silverstripe" logo page and won't even launch the admin interface.
Judging by all of the questions, it appears that site migration problems are not uncommon. I wish there was more definitive documentation for migrating a site from one server to another.
If you have resolved your problems please let me know what you did. Thanks!

justjen,
I experienced a fresh 2.4.4 install having trouble with the admin section only - taking a very long time to display and when (or if) it did display the admin section, clicking on the save button would result in it continuously displaying the wait symbol. The following fix resolved it for me:

Thanks, turtleline.
I made the change listed at http://www.silverstripe.org/installing-silverstripe/show/15521 and it seemed to resolve my problems. Thanks for the suggestion, though. I'll definitely keep it in mind should any other bugs rear their ugly head.
