I am trying to install SS onto a hosted web server. This particular hosting service does not have Cpanel for me to unpack the SS file. I have created a folder using Filezilla and uploaded the unzipped SS files to it.

I direct my browser to the address and all I get is 404 not found. The hosting service provides the correct PHP and MYsql requirements.

Any advice? Thanking you in advance.

Try visiting install.php instead. Do you see the installation screen?

Thanks for the response. After much mucking about, turns out php was not enabled by the hosting service and after enabling, they use php 4 not 5. Complete waste of a day. I will use another hosting service.
