I have followed the video tutorial to install wamp server and then opened my browser (firefox 3) as shown to http://localhost:3306/ sivlerstripe-v2.3.0/install.php. My browser cannot find local host. I have ensured my firewall (Comodo) allows port 3306 and Skype does not use ports 80 & 443, my modem permits local host on port 3306." My AV (Nod32) has no blocked ports. I am running Win XP pro Sp3. Win amp shows in half moon icon part red which presumably is not connecting. Can anyone help as I would like to install Sivlerstripe.

"Yslow" addon shows "error" "uncaught exception: Access to restricted URI denied (NS_ERROR_DOM_BAD_URI)
[Break on this error] xhr.open(type, s.url, s.async);"

Click the wamp icon, go to apache, click error log. Scroll to end of the file that opens. This should tell why wamp is not starting. Possible misconfiguration or missing modules.

Tks Hamish, but nothing new in the Apache error log. Incidentally, I tried changing the port in the Apache httpd.conf file. Tried the default of 80, then 81, then 3000 as recommended in the video installation tutorial and finally 3306 which I note appears in MySQL settings. Makes no difference. Seems like getting this to load is not going to happen and I may wait until Silverstripe gets the Microsoft server integrated and try that?
Can't get help on the Wamp Server site.

Seems my problem was the Commodo firewall which eventually asked me to approve the 'actions' as 'safe.'
Now to try the web tutorials.
