Hi. I have installed ss on an ubuntu 8.10 box with apache 2.2.9 and mysql 14.12.
The installation went smoothly enough. As per the instructions on the initial page, I changed the neccessary permissions.

I get the "welcome to silverstripe" page.
But when I click on the link to open the CMS, very little happens.
The page is blank, except for text on the top left corner, that says "Loading...".

Nothing loads.

What could be the issue here ?
How can I get the cms running ?

Fixed.

This issue went away once I allowed the use of .htaccess in the apache config for the vhost that was serving ss.
