SilverStripe installs and then does nothing.

After installing Silverstripe on Microsoft IIS, whatever I lick on, I get the Home page only. It will go no further. I get the following error...
PHP Notice: Undefined index: REQUEST_URI in G:\nabilco\site\index.php on line 20 PHP Notice: Undefined index: REQUEST_URI in G:\nabilco\site\index.php on line 28 PHP Notice: Undefined index: REQUEST_URI in G:\nabilco\site\index.php on line 34
Since it's calling a function that IIS does not recognize, I wonder how many places in the code this problem exists. Does anyone know how to make Silverstripe work?
