    Installation failed on Ubuntu 9.04 Link to this post

    Hi.

    I'm a c#developer in Tokyo, Japan.

    I'm trying to install SilverStripe 2.3.3 to my Ubuntu 9.04 server.
    I got following message and to installation was failed.

    [Warning] mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES)
    POST /silverstripe/install.php

    * Ubuntu 9.04
    * Apache 2.2.11
    * PHP 5.2.6

    could anyone help me?

    Hiya, and welcome to SS.

    That error clearly means that your username or password is incorrect. SS has found the database server, but can't login.

    Considering you are using root as the user, I would say that the password you have in /mysite/_config.php is incorrect. Please check that out.
