Allows SilverStripe to connect to and entirely run off a Microsoft SQL Server 2008 database. In conjunction with being installed on IIS or Apache, this allows for rich integration with a Microsoft Server environment.

This module works with SQL Server 2008 or SQL Server 2008 R2. SQL Server 2008 R2 Express edition, a free download, is also compatible.

Linux and other operating systems like Mac OS X can connect to SQL Server databases using a third-party library FreeTDS. See the mssql page on the SilverStripe developer wiki for more information.
