te reo Māori language support

Nau mai ki SilverStripe CMS i roto i te reo Māori. Kei te whakahīhī mātou ki te whai wāhi ki te whakawhanake me te tautoko i te reo Māori, te reo rangatira o Aotearoa.

Welcome to SilverStripe CMS in Te Reo Māori. We're proud to do our part to grow and support the use of te reo, an official language of New Zealand.

SilverStripe CMS supports te reo Māori in two ways:

1. Website pages in te reo Māori

A website running SilverStripe CMS can serve content written in te reo Māori. Macrons are supported, ensuring words can be correctly spelt. A free extension module allows each page of your website to be available in several languages, e.g. te reo Māori, English, and Chinese Mandarin.

2. Website authoring and administration in te reo Māori

The SilverStripe CMS interface to add, edit, and remove website pages, and perform all of the other tasks in managing a website can be used translated into te reo Māori. Several thousand words were professionally translated to enable this.

Each user can make an individual choice on what language they use the software in, for example te reo Māori, US or UK English, French, German, or over a dozen other choices. Anyone can download or contribute translated phrases in any language - see links below.

Tip: Add a Macron inserter to the rich-text editor:

You can support website authors to use macrons by adding an 'Insert a Macron' button to the rich-text editor toolbar. When clicked it provides the following dialogue box:

To enable this, add the following code to mysite/_config.php:

HtmlEditorConfig::get('cms')->insertButtonsAfter('charmap', 'ssmacron');
HtmlEditorConfig::get('cms')->enablePlugins(array('ssmacron' => '../../../framework/thirdparty/tinymce_ssmacron/editor_plugin_src.js'));
