I have been dumped in the deep end, know nothing about the backend (coding) of websites but have a website with pages that have breaks in a background which should be solid. Doesnt make send to me because they are random and have nothing to do with the copy breaks since para's start and finish in these breaks. It looks like page break.

When I mentioned this to the now fired web developers they ignored me and never fixed the problem.

My question:
where do I look for the problem and
how would I fix this?

Hey it sounds like it might by a relatively easy fix, I take it this problem is in the on the displayed site ie, what the public can see, not the CMS where you edit the content?

This is your problem http://www.mediapagesonline.com/themes/darkshades/images/main_bg.gif the background image that is coded for on line 128 of /themes/darkshades/css/Layout.css has those lines on it.

Oh Howard, :-) you know how to make a grown woman cry with joy! Thank you. One last question for today - how do I now apply the fix? I know this sounds very dumb for this forum, but I literally am in the deep end here.

Haha oh I see, well - do you have ftp access to the files on the server? Or do you only have access to the CMS, ie, can you only login and change the contents of the page?

What you need to do is log into the server using an ftp program and replace the image file that is stored in the themes directory with the one that I attached. It's only a 30 second job if you have the details of how to log into the server, if you don't have the details you will need to get them off your (ex) web developers.
