If I want to create a "Welcome" page which is usually the index.html page which then leads to the main site with all the menus etc. How should I do it?

Will the welcome page be the parent of all the other pages.
OR
Do I just need to set the Page type as HomePage and then link it to one of the main site pages. (as well as making the welcome page not part of the menu system)

I would test these both but I having trouble with my home page at the moment as I seem to have 2 and am about to start from scratch, was hoping of some advice first.

The order of the pages in the site tree is the same order as the front end´s navigation. The first site is the root. The following pages must not be nested (unless you want the to be part of a second level navigation).
