Hi...uhm...I've been searching the forums and the website, but i am still not entirely sure. But since copyright is a major topic on the net, i would rather ask again, just to be sure.
I have been asked by a friend, to make a website for his company. We talked about a couple of already existing styles and he like the paddygreen style by laktek, found at http://www.silverstripe.org/paddygreen/ a lot. So we decided we want to use this theme, arranged with the corporate design of his company.
So I read the websites and everywhere it said "All themes are created by members of our Open Source Community and are completely free to use."
The same has been said multiple times in the threads i was reading the this forum.
Yet on the theme, in the footer, there is a "copyright 2007" "Powered by Silverstripe Open Source CMS. Theme by Lakshan Perera". And now i am not sure which one to believe.
Am i now allowed to use the provided free themes completely for free for any purpose i wish for or is there a copyright by the author?
Sorry for bothering but since it is for a commercial purpose, i have to be sure...
Kindest Regards,
Worp
