I was having the same issue. Install worked. I followed all instructions very carefully.
I just got itheme to work by transferring the unzipped files and changing the line in _config.php with all lowercase letters and no spaces. I believe this is the same thing I did the first time, but it's working now. Hopefully this helps someone...
