Hi

A site I have developed was upgraded to V2.3.0 RC3 to get PayPal working in the ecommerce module. This upgrade was done by someone with a great deal more experience than I with SS.

Prior to the upgrade French, German & Spanish as well as English languages had ben implemented and were working well.

After the upgrade, the English (default) version works well, but none of the other languages now work. Whe you change to one of the other languages, you get an SQL error displayed.

Go to http://imageslasertek.co.nz/?lang=en and try changing to one of the other languages.

Any ideas on what I need to do to fix this? Would an upgrade to 2.3.1 fix the problem? Given this problem arose from a version upgrade, I am a little reluctant to jump in and do an upgrade without knowing it will be ok

Cheers for you help

V2.3.0 RC3 is oooold, why not upgrade to a recent version? Stable is 2.3.1, and 2.3.2 RC1 is out too.

If you look around in this forum just a little you might notice that translatable is broken in 2.3.0 and 2.3.1, causing the problems you see.

Good news is that SS 2.3.2 has it fixed, and improved, so upgrade to that, and it should work again. However the translatable concept has changed, so it will not be an easy and automatic upgrade, you might have to manually transfer the translated pages.

Thanks for the comment

I was hoping something like this might be the case. I had been unable to find any reference to multi-language being broken or anything related.

I have since upgraded to 2.3.1 (it is the stable release at this time) and this has not fixed the problem. I will try the release of 2.3.2, and see what happens.

Cheers

Hmmmmm

Further progress. After finally completing the upgrade (For future reference, don't get distracted in the middle so you don't forget some folders etc) I no longer get errors when I try to change languages but they still don't work.

However I am unable to log in to admin. Am now heading off to look for ideas on forums to solve this logging in problem.

Cheers

Yep. I did eventually and found the translate process required.

I have done the translate process and am able to log in to admin, see the different language pages etc. But when you select a different language in the front end you get the english displayed.

Has the method of changing language changed from the ?lang=fr etc?

Cheers
