Good to hear you got it sorted, and thanks for adding [SOLVED] to your subject. This will help others.
As this widget is a contribution, I don't think there will be any compatability notes added to the core release notes.
If you want to contribute to the widget, it might pay to try get hold of the maintainer and send him your fix for updating the repository.
