Kudos Widget - file called * in javascript folder

not sure if this is a tar issue or what but I've re-downloaded the file from the widgets section to make sure.
when I unpack the widgetskudos-0.1.tar.gz the javascript directory has one file showing in ftp with no name, when I view directly using ls -la it says total 12 with one file called * so where the other 9 files are I don't know.
Is the javascript directory meant to be empty or is the tar file corrupt?
