Three weeks ago, Silverstripe was delighted to take part in the tenth edition of StripeCon Europe. 74 attendees from 10 different countries gathered in Hamburg, Germany, with many more joining virtually. This was a chance to take the pulse of the community and share some of the exciting plans we have for Silverstripe CMS.
Stephen Makrogianni and I were honoured to kick off the conference by presenting the keynote. This gave us a chance to highlight some of the successes and challenges Silverstripe had since the last edition in Stockholm, from getting a new CEO to the release of Silverstripe CMS 5.0. We also looked a bit ahead to the release of Silverstripe CMS 5.1, including the adoption of a new logo for Silverstripe CMS and substantial performance improvements. Finally, we also gave conference attendees a sneak peek of our roadmap and how we intend to ship new features going forward.
Other Silverstripe employees presented at the conference:
- Guy Sartorelli provided a comprehensive guide on how to make open source contributions to Silverstripe CMS.
- Mojmir Fendek demonstrated how to optimise the performance of Silverstripe CMS site with caching.
- Marco Hermo shared a cool experiment running Silverstripe CMS in a serverless environment.
We were also amazed to hear about all the cool innovations and projects the Silverstripe CMS community has been working on, from creating your first Silverstripe CMS module, to Artificial Intelligence, to writing Better PHP with Rector, to e-commerce in Europe. The breadth of interest and knowledge in the community is awe-inspiring.
Over the coming weeks, we’ll be highlighting some of the wonderful talks from StripeCon Europe 2023 as the recordings become available on YouTube.
We’re all looking forward to the 11th edition of StripeCon Europe in Slovenia next year!
