Extending SubSites module

Hi,

I have subsites module up and running, hovever I have question about extending its funcionality.
I have one main site mydomain.com, and subdomains xxx.mydomain.com where users can administrate their separate websites.
Is it possible to make specific page types for the subsites and disable some page types inherited from main site mydomain.com?
I would also like to let the administrators of the subsites to check wchich news from their sites could be displayed on the main site mydomain.com. How can I achieve that? Via RSS? How can specific news be marked and sent to the main website?
