Gallery page...no popup window showing up

I have added a gallery page to our site and the popup window is not showing up...
the selected image does appear in a new browser window.

I like the way Gallery demo page worked...where the rest of the page gets shaded out and a new floating window appears with navigation.

I have tried both Mozilla and IE and both behave the same.

there is a few conflicts with the gallery flash and the prototype the cms uses see - http://www.silverstripe.com/extending-hacking-silverstripe-forum/flat/7080
