I need to make an area on a site which is like a community app. Content will be added by the end user in an area that they log in to. The content for these pages will not be added in CMS. Where can I read up on this kind of thing?

I need to define a Project which is owned by a user. Each project will have a name, a description and multiple images. The user can have multiple projects. There are multiple users. Do I need to create the tables to capture this info myself?
