Install problem (Cannot write manifest file!)

for a CMS that my mom can use the install process is not very freindly...

During install I'm receiving following message:

Installing SilverStripe...
I am now running through the installation steps (this should take about 30 seconds)

If you receive a fatal error, refresh this page to continue the installation

Creating 'assets' folder...
Creating 'mysite/_config.php'...
Creating '.htaccess' file...
Building database schema...Cannot write manifest file! Check permissions of /manifestC_\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Apache2.2\htdocs\silverstripe_sapphire_main.php

MySQL: 4.1.10a-nt
