Hi,

I've chosen this CMS after probe it at demo site and read all your comments. My hosting service is ready to solve any problem to make it works so, after getting every light in green except one in orange ("allow_call_time_pass_reference is set to '' in php.ini. You can install with allow_call_time_pass_reference not set, but some warnings may get displayed. For best results, turn it on").

PHP is 5.1.6 version and mySQL is 5.0.48 with charset UTF8 and connection collation UTF8_general_ci.

When I choose "BlackCandy template" or "No template", I get the next result:

=========================================================
Installing SilverStripe...

I am now running through the installation steps (this should take about 30 seconds)

If you receive a fatal error, refresh this page to continue the installation
# Creating 'mysite/_config.php'...
# Creating '.htaccess' file...
# Building database schema...

Warning: $project isn't set in /var/www/213/htdocs/sapphire/core/ManifestBuilder.php on line 89

Fatal error: DB::connect: Not passed a valid database config in /var/www/213/htdocs/sapphire/core/model/DB.php on line 50
========================================================

Any help?

Thank you

I got the exact same error trying to install SilverStripe on a CentOS-box with Apache 2.2.4 and PHP 5.2.3. Anyone who has a solution for this issue?

has it been able to write to mysite/_config.php ?
That is where the project variable is written (assuming you're doing the blackcandy theme)

Make sure that also 'execute' permission is set for mysite directory.
