Please don't kill me if this is a recurrent issue. I've been doing some search and didn't find a point to start solving my problem.

I have a website built on silverstripe and a particular Model for a catalog. I want to show the details of a product as a subdomain of the website, so, instead of

http://mysite.com/product/1

I want it to work like http://1.mysite.com/

I'm tangling around url rewriting... I think that this can be solved in htaccess file rules, but I'm lost. Also I would like to use this as a minisite for some products and to attach a domain specific for it like so:

http://www.thebestproductinworld.com/ should be pointing also to this http://mysite.com/product/1 page only!

I hope I made my self clear, any help would be well received :)

Regards,
Rui Isidro
